The reMarkable Paper Pure case, in one answer

If you want the reMarkable Paper Pure case that reMarkable makes, there is exactly one design to choose: the Sleeve Folio. It comes in four finishes. Three are Polymer Weave, in Mist Green, Ocean Blue and Desert Pink, at $69. The fourth is new: a Forest Brown leather version at $129, which reMarkable added on October 8, 2026, lined with blue microfiber padding.

Both versions do the same job. reMarkable describes rigid polycarbonate plates, 3D molded to the Pure’s exact shape, under a foam-padded cover, with wraparound protection for the tablet and the Marker. The folio weighs 215 g. The Paper Pure itself is 360 g, so the pair comes to about 575 g in your bag. The question this guide answers is not which colour, but whether a sleeve suits the way you write.

The design

A sleeve, not a book folio: why that decides it

The reMarkable 2 and the Paper Pro both have Book Folios that open like a hardback, so the tablet stays in its cover while you write. The Paper Pure does not. reMarkable’s own page says the sleeve wakes the tablet when it is removed and locks it when it goes back in. In practice that means the Pure comes out of the case to be used and goes back in to travel.

That is a good fit for one kind of owner and an annoyance for another. If you carry the Pure between home and work and write at a desk, sliding it out is one move, and the bare tablet is lighter and thinner in the hand than any covered one. If you write on your knee, on a train or standing up, a cover that stays on and folds back is the better tool, and that is a third-party purchase.

Official options

Polymer Weave or leather: the official Sleeve Folio, priced

The two finishes share the plates, the padding, the wake and lock magnets and the fit. The difference is the outer material and $60. Polymer Weave is a woven fabric in three colours; the leather is genuine leather in one brown, which reMarkable says ages over time. If the case lives in a backpack, the fabric is the sensible buy. If it sits on a meeting table, the leather is the one that looks the part.

How you buy itPriceWhat you get
Sleeve Folio, Polymer Weave$69Mist Green, Ocean Blue or Desert Pink
Sleeve Folio, leather$129Forest Brown, blue microfiber lining
Paper Pure + Marker Plus + Sleeve Folio$499Polymer Weave folio in the box
Paper Pure + Marker Plus + leather Sleeve Folio$549Leather folio in the box

The bundles are where the case gets cheaper. The Paper Pure with Marker Plus is $449 on its own, so the $499 bundle prices the fabric folio at $50 instead of $69, and the $549 bundle prices the leather one at $100 instead of $129. If you are buying the tablet now and know you want the official case, the bundle is the cheaper route by $19 or $29. If you already own a Pure, the standalone price is the only one on offer.

Everything else that pairs with the tablet, from Marker tips to the charging cable, is in our reMarkable tablet accessories guide, and the device itself is covered in our reMarkable Paper Pure review.

What matters

What to check in any Paper Pure case

Whichever case you buy, four things matter more than the material. First, the fit. reMarkable says its tablets all have different dimensions, so a Paper Pure folio fits no other model, and the reverse is true: a reMarkable 2 case is cut for a different body, even though both screens are 10.3 inches. Second, the Marker. The official sleeve covers the Marker as well as the tablet; a third-party case should either do the same or give the pen a loop, or it will end up loose in your bag.

Third, the screen edge. The Paper Pure has no frontlight and is read by room light, so the case does not need a light cut-out, but a book-style cover should open flat enough to write without the spine pushing your hand. Fourth, the weight. At 360 g the Pure is light for a 10.3-inch tablet, and a heavy cover can undo that. The official sleeve adds 215 g; most book covers will add something similar, so a case that weighs much more than that is buying protection you may not need.

A sleeve protects a tablet in transit; it does nothing for you while the tablet is out.The one question

Third-party

When a third-party case is the better buy

There are two good reasons to look past reMarkable’s own case. One is the book format: a cover that stays on, folds back and lets you write with the tablet protected, which the official sleeve does not do. The other is price, since $69 is a fair amount for a sleeve when you already paid $399 for the tablet.

The trade is the one every third-party accessory carries: fit and finish vary by seller. Read recent reviews for three things before buying. Does the listing name the Paper Pure specifically, and not the reMarkable 2? Does it hold the Marker? Does the tablet sit tight, or shift when the cover is folded back? A case that passes all three is a sound buy. A listing that lumps several reMarkable models together is the one to skip, because no single case fits all of them.

The short version

Which Paper Pure case to buy

If you write at a desk and carry the tablet between places, buy the official Sleeve Folio, and buy it in the bundle if you are getting the tablet now. Fabric for the bag, leather for the office. If you write with the tablet on your lap or on the move, skip the sleeve and find a book-style third-party case that names the Paper Pure and holds the Marker. If you own several reMarkable tablets, remember that each one needs its own case; our Paper Pro cases and reMarkable 2 cases guides cover the other two.

Once it is protected, the more useful question is what you put on it. Our Paper Pure templates guide walks through what is worth loading first. And if you have tried the sleeve or a book cover on your Pure, tell us in the comments which one stuck; other owners weighing the same choice will read it.

FAQ

Common questions, answered briefly

Do reMarkable 2 cases fit the Paper Pure?
No. Both have 10.3-inch screens, but reMarkable says its tablets all have different dimensions and that Paper Pure folios fit no other model. Buy a case that names the Paper Pure.
How much is the reMarkable Paper Pure Sleeve Folio?
$69 in Polymer Weave (Mist Green, Ocean Blue or Desert Pink) and $129 in Forest Brown leather, on reMarkable’s US store in October 2026. Bought with the tablet, the bundles are $499 and $549.
Can you write on the Paper Pure inside the Sleeve Folio?
It is a sleeve, not a book cover: reMarkable says it wakes the tablet when you take it out and locks it when you put it back. You write with the Pure out of the case.
Does the Sleeve Folio hold the Marker?
Yes. reMarkable describes it as wraparound protection for the Paper Pure and its Marker, so the pen travels inside with the tablet.
How heavy is the Paper Pure with its case?
The Sleeve Folio weighs 215 g and the Paper Pure 360 g, so about 575 g together.
