When Kindle Scribe Black Friday 2026 starts

Black Friday falls on 27 November this year, with Cyber Monday on 30 November. Amazon has not published its own event dates yet, and it does not pre-announce device prices, so any page quoting an exact 2026 Kindle Scribe Black Friday price today is guessing. What is on the record is how last year ran. Amazon’s own Black Friday 2025 deals page, published 20 November, called it Black Friday Week, ran it through 28 November, and then rolled the same deals into Cyber Monday through 1 December.

So the working assumption is a sale that opens about a week before the Friday, not on it, and that the Cyber Monday prices match the Black Friday ones rather than beating them. The eBook Reader, which logs Kindle sale prices model by model, put it bluntly at the end of last year’s event: the deals were exactly the same from Black Friday through Cyber Monday, so there was no reason to hold out for the Monday.

One thing is new for 2026 and worth knowing before the sale opens: this is the first Black Friday the 11-inch Scribes have been around for. The front-lit Scribe and the Scribe Colorsoft reached buyers on 10 December 2025, two weeks after last year’s event closed, and the Scribe without a front light followed in June. Every Black Friday figure you can find for a Scribe from before this year is for the older 10.2-inch model.

These are the prices between events, read off each Amazon listing on 15 October 2026. Nothing in the line is discounted as we write, which is normal: Amazon device prices snap back to list the day an event closes. Amazon’s 1 October new Kindle lineup announcement covered the Kindle, Paperwhite and Colorsoft and did not touch the Scribe, so these are still the current models.

The pattern

The price the 11-inch Scribe has hit twice this year

The 11-inch Scribes have two sale events behind them, and they tell the same story. At Prime Day in June, The eBook Reader’s model-by-model list had the 32 GB Scribe at $379.99, $120 off, and the 32 GB Colorsoft at $479.99, $150 off. Ahead of Prime Big Deal Days, which Amazon ran on 6 and 7 October, the same two prices came back to the cent. Both work out to about 24 percent, which is also where the Colorsoft sat in Amazon’s own Prime Day roundup, as our Kindle Scribe Prime Day page recorded at the time.

Two events landing on identical figures is the useful part. It suggests $379.99 and $479.99 are prices Amazon has settled on for this hardware rather than one-off accidents, which makes them the obvious benchmark for Black Friday. A November price at or under those numbers is a real deal; anything above them is a markdown dressed as an event. There was also a stray September sale that put the same 32 GB Scribe at $399, and it vanished within minutes of being spotted, according to The eBook Reader, which is a fair picture of how unpredictable the off-event prices are.

What Black Friday 2025 actually cut

Last year’s Black Friday Scribe deals were all on the 10.2-inch model, because the 11-inch ones were not on sale yet. The eBook Reader’s opening-day list on 20 November had the 16 GB at $279.99 ($120 off), the 32 GB at $279.99 ($140 off) and the 64 GB at $309.99 ($140 off), with the cover bundles between $294.97 and $329.97. Amazon’s own deals page described the 64 GB Kindle Scribe Essentials Bundle as up to 38 percent off.

That was a deeper cut than the 11-inch models have seen this year, a third off rather than a quarter, but it was a clearance cut on outgoing hardware and it kept going after the event. The original 2022 Scribe turned up new at $221.99 in December, and on 2 January The eBook Reader logged the 10.2-inch Scribe on clearance at the same $279.99 to $309.99 prices. Then the clearance stopped. The 16 GB is $399.99 again today, sold new at full price beside a newer 11-inch model that went for less at both of this year’s events.

The lesson we take from it is the same one the June event taught: with Kindles, “outgoing model” does not reliably mean “cheap”. Last November it did. This summer, with the 11-inch line on the shelf, Amazon left the old one at list. Whether it gets one more clearance this Black Friday is not something anyone outside Amazon knows, so we would not buy the 10.2-inch Scribe at $399.99 on the hope of it, and we would not wait for it either.

Which Scribe to wait for on Black Friday

If the 2026 sale repeats this year’s pattern, the order of value is clear, and it is not the order of the list prices.

The awkward fact in that table is that the front-lit 32 GB Scribe, at its sale price, is cheaper than the model Amazon positions as the budget option. A front light, double the storage and the same 11-inch screen for $50 less is not a hard call. The no-light Scribe only makes sense if it gets its first discount and that discount takes it under $379.99.

How to be ready when the deals open

A sale that runs for a week and a half rewards people who decided beforehand. Pick the model now, using the table above. Write down the benchmark price for that model, so a “deal” badge on the day has something to be measured against. And when an offer appears, check two things before buying: that the listing is shipped and sold by Amazon rather than a marketplace seller, and that the price is the one on the device page itself, not a bundle price that includes a cover you did not want.

The cheapest prep costs nothing: give the device a job before it arrives. A Scribe bought on a deal and left as a blank notebook is how these tablets end up in a drawer by February.
