Everything you need to cover us, without emailing first.

We’re a small independent studio, so this page exists to save you a round-trip. Boilerplate, brand facts, logos, positioning, and how to reach us. Use anything here without asking. If you publish something, we’d love a heads-up so we can share it.

Boilerplate

Drop-in paragraphs. Short for round-ups, long for feature pieces. Copy, paste, lightly edit.

Short, 1 line

Templacity is an independent studio making carefully built digital planning templates for e-ink devices, spreadsheets, and a handful of everyday software.

Medium, ~40 words

Templacity publishes slowly. Each template is tuned to the device it lives on (page size, tap targets, margins, writing surface), reviewed for a week, then shipped at a single quiet price. Independent and self-funded.

Long, ~110 words, for features

Templacity is an independent studio making digital planning templates for e-ink devices (reMarkable, Kindle Scribe, Boox), spreadsheets, and a handful of pieces of software that deserved better defaults. Where other template shops ship monthly catalogues of hundreds of files, we ship a small, curated catalogue. Each template is tuned to the device it runs on, reviewed against the hardware before release, and sold once at a fair price. No external funding, no influencer discounts, no urgency theatre. We keep the catalogue deliberately small, because that’s the kind of studio we’d want to buy from.

About the studio

Available for interviews, written, podcast, or video. We usually reply inside a day.

Templacity is a small independent studio. We design every template against the actual hardware it ships for, not a generic PDF that pretends every device is the same. Our catalogue is intentionally short: fewer files, each tuned to the hardware and sold once, instead of a fresh catalogue to re-buy every year. We’re self-funded, run no influencer programme, and don’t use countdowns or fake scarcity.

We can speak to: designing for e-ink, why most template catalogues are too big, small-catalogue economics, indie-studio operations, and where AI sits in editorial workflows without becoming the voice.

Positioning lines

Written by the studio, cleared for any context. Attribute to Templacity.

On e-ink

“Designing for e-ink is designing for patience. Refresh is slower than pixels; contrast is narrower than paper; the pen feels like a pencil on cartridge. A layout that looks elegant in a mockup can feel laboured on the device. So we design everything with the device on the desk, not the monitor.”

On catalogue size

“Most template shops ship hundreds of files a year because the economics reward volume. We ship a short catalogue because we’d rather make a few templates properly than many carelessly.”

On owning what you buy

“You buy a file, not a login. It lands in your account and your inbox, it works offline, and it is yours to keep. No subscription to lapse, no server that can switch it off.”

On what we don’t do

“We don’t do countdowns, abandoned-cart emails, or influencer discounts. A planner is a tool. You either need it or you don’t, and if you don’t, we’d rather you walk away than be talked into it.”

On AI in editorial

“Our writing is produced with AI assistance, and we say so. That doesn’t excuse us from honesty, it raises the bar. We can have opinions; we can’t fabricate experiences. Every claim on our site is something we’d defend on a podcast.”

Recent coverage

A running list, newest first. If you’ve covered us and we’ve missed you, tell us and we’ll add you here.

We’re a young studio and this list is honest, so it’s short. If you’re writing about indie template studios, e-ink productivity, or how small software shops handle pricing and updates, we’d love to talk. The boilerplate above is yours to use, and we send free review copies of any bundle to writers who tell us which device they’ll test on.

For interviews, review copies, or anything else

Write to [email protected] with “press” in the subject line. We send review copies of any bundle free of charge; tell us which device you test on and we’ll pick the right one. Usually reply inside a day, never later than two.
