These are the terms of the Templacity affiliate program. They are short on purpose, and the parts that are not in your favour are in here rather than left out.
Joining
Anyone can apply. A person reads each application and answers within a few days. We approve on whether your audience is likely to own the devices our templates are made for, not on how large it is: a small channel whose viewers own a reMarkable is worth more to both of us than a large one whose viewers own nothing that opens a PDF planner.
Applications are declined without a long explanation when the channel is a coupon or deals aggregator, when the traffic is bought, when the site exists mainly to rank for our brand name, or when we simply cannot tell who the audience is. A decline is not permanent and it is not personal.
What you earn
You get a personal code. It takes 15% off for the person using it, and pays you 30% of what they actually pay. The commission is calculated on the order after their discount and before any tax, and shipping is never part of it because everything we sell is a download.
Worked through: a $49 planner bought with your code costs the buyer $41.65, and pays you $12.50. There is no cap and no tier you have to reach first.
First order only
You earn on the order your code is used for, once per customer. If somebody you introduced comes back six months later and buys something else, that order does not pay a commission. This is the term most worth knowing before you decide whether the program is worth your time.
How an order gets credited to you
By the code. If it is on the order, the commission is yours; if it is not, it is not. Your share link applies the code automatically, and it keeps doing so for 30 days after someone clicks it, so a person who reads your post today and buys next week still counts and still gets their discount.
We use a code rather than invisible tracking on purpose. It means you can check us: the buyer sees the discount apply, and the order appears in your dashboard as its own row with the amount and the date. You are never asked to trust a single monthly number.
Codes cannot be stacked with another offer, and you cannot use your own code on your own order. Attempting to buy through your own code is refused at checkout rather than clawed back later.
When you get paid
A commission is pending for 30 days from the order date, which is the window in which a buyer might ask for a refund. After that it is ready to pay, and cleared commissions are paid on the 1st of the following month.
There is a $50.00 minimum. Below it, your balance rolls forward to the next month rather than being lost, and it keeps rolling until it clears the minimum. Payment is by Wise or bank transfer, and the reference is recorded in your dashboard so you can match it against your own statement.
Refunds
A refunded order did not happen, so its commission is reversed. The row stays visible in your dashboard marked refunded rather than disappearing, because a number that silently drops is indistinguishable from being cheated.
If the commission had already been paid to you when the refund landed, it comes off your next payment. We will not invoice you for it, and if you never earn again we will not chase it.
How you can talk about us
Say what you actually think, including the parts you do not rate. A review that only praises is worth nothing to your audience and therefore nothing to us.
You do have to disclose the arrangement. In the United States the FTC requires it, and the liability for a missing disclosure sits with us as much as with you, so this one is not optional. A plain line saying the link is an affiliate link, near the top rather than buried at the end, is enough.
Things that end the arrangement: bidding on our brand name in paid search, posting the code to coupon aggregators, buying traffic, claiming to be Templacity or to speak for us, and inventing a review of a product you have not used. If any of those happen the code is switched off, though commissions already earned and cleared are still paid.
Tax
You are not an employee and this is not employment. Commission is your income to declare wherever you live.
If you are in the United States and we pay you more than $2,000 in a calendar year, we need a completed W-9 before that payment and we file a 1099-NEC for it. If you are outside the United States we ask for a W-8BEN once, which is what records that no US withholding applies. We ask for either of these by email at the point it becomes relevant, and never through a form on this site.
Ending it
Either side can stop at any time and for any reason. If you stop, or we stop you for anything other than the misuse listed above, every commission you have already earned is still paid on the normal schedule. Leaving does not forfeit a balance.
Changes to these terms
If the commission rate changes, the new rate applies to orders placed after the change and never to ones already recorded. Your dashboard stores the rate against each individual order for exactly this reason, so a change can never quietly rewrite what you already earned.
