A BOOX is an Android tablet with an e-ink screen and a pen, and that one fact explains almost everything that surprises people once they have one: it runs nearly any app, opens nearly any file, and gives you two different places to write.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It starts with the six limits worth knowing before anything else. Then which model you have, the server choice that makes notes vanish, four routes for getting files on and the folder each one uses, why Notes and NeoReader do not share what you write, the Notes tools most owners never find, the right way to open a planner so its links work, reading and marking up, getting work back out, refresh modes and ghosting, what wears and what charges, and the failures owners actually report in the order worth trying the fixes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The answer about planner links.<\/strong> They work in the Notes app from firmware V4.0 when the PDF is opened with Notes (long-press it, Open With, Notes App, or Create From Local File inside Notes), and they do not when the same PDF is added as a custom template. Chapter 7 is the right route, the wrong route, and the one catch.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Two editions of one book, and you get the one for your BOOX.<\/strong> Every BOOX with a pen runs the same Notes app and NeoReader on one firmware line and has a 3:4 screen, so there is no separate book per model: chapter 2 works out which you have and chapter 13 tabulates all of them. The Note Air C edition shows a Note Air5 C in its photographs, the Go 10.3 edition a Go 10.3 (Gen II). Nothing about your device is missing from the one you pick, and the colophon says so.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Written against BOOX firmware V4.2 and the lineup as it stood in September 2026, dated on its face because firmware moves things.
